The most popular technical aid for the blind is the closed circuit television system. These are easy systems to produce. In the most basic form, they are a small television camera with modest controls connected to a television set. These devices can acheive very high magnification. They are also very intuitive to operate.
There are many kinds of systems: most use normal television monitors, some use small, portable LCD screens, some interconnect with a computer, and some are mounted on the user.
